i've just be featured as in a treasury on Etsy- frankly ican't believe it. i often feel very invisible on Etsy. i'm in it for the long haul- it's an inexpensive way of having an online store front and it gets more traffic than if i had my own website. so there you are. it's kind cool- even if the curator titled the treasury "SOS"....
Also, i was featured on a new blog Craftella. Totally out of the blue.
i find it interesting that my work is found randomly by complete strangers and they connect with it. This is why i started the counter, i wanted to get an idea of how many people cruise my babbling....more than i could have imagined... but who are all you people peeking in. drop me a line and say hi- i'd love to know who's lurking out there...

Hey Lorraine-
I haven't stopped by this blog in a while. I love the banner, have you had it up there long?
Congrats on your features!
Laurie
Hi Lorraine-
Regarding journalling - I highly recommend joining the Green Pepper Press Street Team Art Crusade (that's a mouthful, huh?). It's Michelle Ward's Street Team. There is absolutely no obligation to participate. This month would totally help jumpstart your journal. Our assignment is to journal about our blog - using an actual blog post - and then blog about the journalling of the blog. You can do it as many times as you wish, too. See Michelle's post about it:

I think you would enjoy it! Lots of people stop by from the site and comment, which I love. Every time you do the assignment you get another link on the link list, too. (that's what it means when it says "more" after someone's name - hmm, I guess that's obvious, huh? I love to state the obvious...)
As for my banner, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking me so I hope I answer the question. I did the whole thing in Photoshop Elements. I have a scan of an old victrola from a really old Sears catalog that I'm kind of using as a logo and I pasted that onto a blank jpg that I had filled with a color background. I typed in the words I wanted (get more fonts - for free - at tackorama.net or halloweenfonts.com) Then I started playing around with brushes. My new obsession. If you haven't used them yet, you're going to love it! There are some that come with your photoshop program, I practiced with those quite a bit first. Then I downloaded a bunch of free ones from a site I found on the Adobe site (so I figured it was safe):

There is also a tutorial for installing them here:

This is probably a ten times longer reply than you expected, but my creedo seems to be "Well, to make a long story longer..."
Have a great day!
Laurie
Hi there! I came here by way of IndiePublic ... which you may already know if you're using some sort of analytic tool.
Love the banner! I'll be checking out your Etsy shop.
