Busy, busy season

Life is too busy. Everywhere you go, especially this time of year, people are pushing and shoving to get their gets and have their haves. There's no time to breath, no time to stop, until december 25th when the world could fall apart if the gift isn't just right. is that the story i have bought into? i found myself shopping in big box stores today- searching for a bean bag chair, because that's what my son has decided is the one thing he wants for christmas. it doesn't sound like a hard request, but no chair appeared at wal-ly world or kmart or toysrus or any of the usual places. if there's a bean bag chair in the champlain valley under $50 i couldn't find it. so i was engulfed by the busy, busy of the traffic and the people and the waiting and the frayed nerves. instead on being in the studio or making cookies or getting some laundry done....Jim and Jack put the ornaments on the tree in my absence. Henry and I did the gift go round. tomorrow.... maybe tomorrow i will have some peace. maybe tomorrow... i will be creating. i might be making a bean bag chair.....oi!

to add to this, it looks like this may have been the last year for NightFires. I was too crazed with work to design it, without childcare to see it last week and now fearing that it will be gone for good. the seven days ran an article about how the end may be near. it will be a sad soltice next year if it doesn't continue. I suppose everything changes and change it must

"everything she touches changes, everything that changes touches...."

anyone lived in a pretty how town

(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn’t he danced his did.
Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn’t they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain
children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more
when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone’s any was all to her
someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream
stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)
one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was
all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.
Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain

Separated at birth

Me at my spookiest and the Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam
Uncanny, isn't....
I guess that's just how I feel today. Like a Bene Gesserit Witch. Don't mess with me. I'll make you put your hand in the box.

QCCB- Fairly Successful

Last Saturday, Molly V and I share a space at the Holiday Queen City Craft Bazaar. This is a great juried show in Burlington, right down on the waterfront. I learned somethings from this summer's shows in Waterbury and Burlington.

I got some shelving for the booth and invested a little in some accessories. All in all, it looked great and the product sold well. I had some old customers come back and buy from me again. That felt good. Another woman, came to the show, hoping I would be there, because she wanted the LUCK  BOX. She had her fingers crossed I hadn't sold it yet. That felt really nice.  I think I made some new fans too.
I'm trying to pick up a show in Moretown this weekend, but I just don't think it's going to happen.  The organizer hasn't gotten back to me. Too bad. I did manage to get some Etsy spotlights, let's see if it generates some business. My horoscope says good things are coming. Maybe making some profit from my art will be one.
