That is not mine

Liz Demas asked me to make up some ATC's for the Book Arts Guild meeting on wednesday. Here's my latest attempt. I have decided not to buy any more art supplies for as while, so I'm making it a challenge of using what images and resources I have. Time to clean up the studio, down size the costume stock a bit and clean, clean, clean. Especially if I want to get some work done for the Queen City Art Bazaar coming in December.

Fall is Here - Apple Picking

Weather has been absolutely beautiful here the past few weeks. Fall is offically here and to welcome it in, I took the boys apple picking. We went to Shelburne Orchards over by the lake. Absolutely wonderful. The apples are crisp and delicious, the views of the lake are awe-inspiring. Afterwards, we walked along the trail at Shelburne Bay. So much fun.

friends of mine

i started my new work, two nights ago. sifting through the photos heather, patrick, and jenn sent my way from the reunion. cropping, adjusting color, brightness and hue. wishing i had more to choose from. i suppose, that's where the magic comes into play. making things work when i don't have everything i really need. add a little color a little texture, fabric, whatever...what nots that have some meaning...

the choice of the working title, well jennifer will give a smirk and probably laugh out loud. the dd song is really about people you thought were friends (but weren't.) this is about friends, who don't give up even across the span of time, space and emotion. as per my usual mo, i mixed a playlist on my itunes to help me work my process. music is part of my emotional intelligence. sound and vision.

this is piece is a thank you. a show of gratitude to them and to the universe. for all the things that need to be embrace for being the perfect imperfection that it is.

And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you."

Corset Book -angels have wings -DONE!!!

9-11
This morning at 12:01AM I finished the "corset book." Which, I entitled "angels have wings" based on the spread inside (and the David Bowie song.) Again WOW!! What a relief it was to drop that mother off at Nancy's house this morning. The show opens on friday. I'm leaving work early to go down to rut-vegas (rutland) and see the whole thing. Nancy showed me Meta Strick's two pieces. They were amazing as always. Can't wait to see every one elses. I've posted photos below. The camera didn't co-operate last night, so some of the shots are not great. The cover shot could be better, for sure. Time to go to bed and start listing more things on Etsy tomorrow. I've bought a showcase and am hoping to make some sales on Friday.

Time for me to catch up with some sleep...

My heart is on fire... remember those who have lost their lives to this number(1)911.
